Cocopit

Cocopit is actually a multi-purpose growth medium made from coconut skin. After washing, the coconut fiber shell is washed by the machine from sand and other contaminants such as animal and plant residues. Cocopit is an excellent alternative to traditional peat moss and rock wool. Air-filled porosity and high water holding capacity make it an ideal environment for plant products. This plant is 100% organic and environmentally friendly and also free of pathogens and weeds. It has a pH of 5.7 to 6.5. EC level <1 mS / cm is ideal for plant growth.

Cocopit Components:

Cocopit consists of three parts that may be present in different tissues of all three or one of the parts.

1. Peat: It is called small grains with dimensions of 1 to 5 mm and is dark brown in color.

2. Coir: It is called thread-like fibers with very low thickness and variable length in different textures.

3. Chips: The interlocking particles of peat and fiber are called the size of edible chips.

Indications:

Cocopit can be used in crops that do not use soil

1. Soilless cultivation of cut flowers such as roses

2. In the transplanting industry

3. In hydroponic agricultural products (without soil)

4. Weaving

Reasons for using Cocopit:

In recent years, the use of coco peat has grown and the main reasons for the use of coco peat

1. Excessive salinity of the country’s soils (one of the problems that users with cocopeat have is salinity)

2. The problem of water scarcity in the country, which is the cocoopite that holds extraordinary water.

3. It is one of the diseases of soil and pests.

4. Its use is cheaper than other cultivars in the world.

5. It has an organic texture and decomposes quickly in nature and does not pollute the environment.

6. Seed price increase compared to the last few years, when seed price has increased about 40 times. This new seed has also had a 5-fold increase in yield compared to previous seeds.

Types of cocopeat:

The type of cocopeat is based on the percentage of disorders of its components, but how three types have been considered in Iran?

1. Fine weave: which includes eighty-five percent peat and fifteen percent fiber with a maximum size of 4 centimeters.

2. Medium weave: which includes eighty to eighty-five percent peat as well as fifteen to twenty percent fiber with a maximum size of 15 cm.

3. Cococypes: which includes thirty percent of peat and thirty to sixty percent of chips and the rest of the fibers with variable dimensions.

Country of manufacture:

There are currently two cocoopite producing countries in the world

1. India: It has high salinity, low opening speed and low volume

2. Sri Lanka: It has low salinity, high opening speed and high volume
